Bobby Bryan: No accommodation for religion
Regarding the May 31 Point of View “Zayde and a magistrate maneuver”: It’s sad that our governor refuses to be like the kind dairy owner who found a way to accommodate Zayde’s religious objections to a certain part of his job.
It’s ironic that Scott Huler thinks it would be a bad thing for magistrates to receive a comparable accommodation to the one that, according to Huler, resulted in his very existence.
It is also sad that our country, founded on religious liberty, is rapidly moving toward a position where it is acceptable to practice one’s religious beliefs only in a manner that the government finds acceptable.
