David Gardner: Barry Saunders Hall?
I have a solution to the problem of the naming of UNC’s Saunders Hall. Name the building instead for Barry Saunders. This replaces the racist former honoree’s name with that of a prominent and forward-looking African-American. It will also save a fortune in redoing countless maps, signs, brochures and so forth.
