Thomas McKee: Economic rulers

For many years, some Republicans have voiced concerns about the dangers of “World Government” and the corresponding loss of U.S. sovereignty. I never shared those concerns for they didn’t seem credible to me. However, now I fear that the several trade agreements being negotiated in secret, unfortunately under President Obama’s leadership, will lead to at least some “Global Government by Corporations,” and surely to real losses of U.S. sovereignty.

It would seem that today’s Republicans would be strongly opposed to these agreements. After all, a loss of sovereignty is a loss of sovereignty whether it be to the U.N. (or some such) or to the leading global corporations. This acquiescence by Republicans is strange, at best.
