David Ellis: Bigotry wins

Regarding the June 12 news article “N.C. officials now free to avoid gay marriages”: I see that North Carolina has managed to ignore that whole “separation of church and state” thing and allow state employees to use their religious beliefs as an excuse not to perform their duties.

It really makes me wonder why we are even bothering to fight ISIS as it seems religious bigotry is alive and well in North Carolina.
