Walter Kauffmann: Too-powerful Apodaca

Upon reading the June 14 news article “Apodaca: Senate’s enforcer uses muscle, humor” on Sen. Tom Apodaca, I came away sensing that we don’t have a government by the people and for the people. What we have is a dictatorship.

I would think that every bill that is written should come to a vote by the House or Senate and either be approved or disapproved. What are these people being paid for?

These bills should not be held up by Apodaca and his committee. No wonder why legislators would not speak against him. No wonder why he has become a magnet for campaign funds.

This is the Great State of Tom Apodaca.
