Regarding the June 18 news article “Wake considers hazardous waste site for new school”: Really? First question: Would any of the school board members send their kids to a school built on a hazardous waste site, albeit one that has been routinely monitored? I think not.
Second question: Has the school board taken a look at the demographics of that neighborhood? If I’m not mistaken, Latino and African-American as well as other minority groups make up the neighborhoods surrounding this property. HmM. Makes one wonder, doesn’t it?
