I’m not quite sure how to react to Barry Saunders’ June 22 column “Hartsell’s selling; I’m not buying,” as he seems to be making fun of state Sen. Fletcher Hartsell for the possible improper spending of his campaign funds – $600 to have the same two pairs of shoes repaired some 19 times.
Barry needs to do some sole searching because many politicians claim to operate on a shoestring. After all, what’s a state senator to do if he isn’t well-heeled and wants to prevent the agony of de-feet at the voting polls?
As a footnote, he should probably be given the boot.
