Joyce Rothchild: Ever-changing liberty

Regarding the June 27 news article “U.S. Supreme Court extends gay marriage nationwide”: Congratulations to the LBGT community on finally attaining the right to marry the persons of their choice. Thanks go to the five brave members of the Supreme Court.

Interesting that Justice Clarence Thomas felt liberty per the Constitution has been compromised. If it were left to individual states to decide, many residents would be deprived of their pursuit of liberty and happiness.

Thomas might not have even been able to marry the woman of his choice, who happens not to be African-American. I remember when that was against the law.
