Bernie Stewart: Obama’s grace

Never in my lifetime had I heard a president of the United States sing a hymn on national TV, until President Obama sang “Amazing Grace” at Rev. Clementa Pinckney’s funeral Friday. Here was the commander in chief using a special time to evangelize to the world. Where is the celebration by Christians? The president has been accused of being a Muslim. He is the only president who has had to prove his citizenship. He is a president who has been besieged by racist slurs for eight years. Where is the amazing grace for him?
