David Council: Learn from, don’t erase history

While I personally would never fly the Confederate flag, there is something unsettling about the current demand for a Soviet/Taliban-style purging of all things Confederate from our society. We need to remember that history is not always pretty and that erasing the bad history may doom us to repeat it.
