David H. Bland: Money trumps environment
In the July 3 letter “SolarBees only part of plan” the president of North America Lake Management Society, Reed Green, directly challenged the stated intent by the legislature when it funded the SolarBees Project.
Contrary to the legislature’s effort to absolve developers from industrial and residential runoff, Green stated, “Cost-effective pollutant-input reduction is needed but is insufficient alone.”
It seems that sacrificing our environment on the good-old-boy altar rather than requiring polluters to accept the consequences of their economic development efforts has become the imprimatur of this legislature.
