Eric Thomas: Support Iran agreement

I don’t know whether this new Iran agreement is the perfect agreement or not. However, it’s my belief that there never has been a perfect one.

I’m willing to believe that this one is good enough. It certainly beats the alternative, which seems to be war. It has the buy-in of a lot of the rest of the world.

By providing the beginnings of a crack in the totalitarian hold on Iran by its government, it might even begin the slow process of integrating Iran into a more civil world society.

If it doesn’t, we’ve always got sanctions we could fall back on. Also, we’ve faced down nuclear armed foes before and can do it again, if necessary.

For those reasons, I support the proposed agreement and would request my elected representatives to do likewise.
