Thomas Kline: Medicaid expansion a human rights issue

Regarding the July 18 news article “Child advocates urge McCrory to create plan”: Medicaid-eligible people are disproportionally black or disabled protected classes.

All 11 states seceding over the issue of human rights have refused low-cost Medicaid health insurance, a human rights issue.

We preach to other countries about human rights when we needn’t go that far from home. Change will not occur spontaneously.
