Deborah Brogden: Militarize the military

Regarding the July 23 news article “Servicemen died diverting gunman”: I observe that our police and sheriffs routinely, in the line of duty, have a holster with a gun. It seems appropriate that military personnel working at recruiting offices could also be permitted to carry a gun.

I hear of nationwide concerns of a growing tendency around militarization of our police. But maybe it’s time to militarize the U.S. military.
