Vincent M. DiSandro: A left-wing grab

Your Aug. 5 editorial “EPA’s Clean Power Plan promotes the health of people and the planet” was entertaining. Clear the air of what? Carbon dioxide? A gas we exhale with every breath. A gas necessary for photosynthesis, without which we would die. And EPA wants to regulate this as a pollutant?

Let’s review the bidding. First it was global warming. Then when the globe refused to warm, it was climate change. Of course climate changes. Ten thousand years ago we had an ice age. Then the “scientists” said they had the data to prove that global temperatures were going up. Then they were caught faking the data and demonizing those who pointed out their fake data. And President Obama says that draconian regulation of power plants will cause electric rates to go down. Tell that to the folks in California, which mandates all sorts of renewables and has electric rates triple anyone else’s.

And your evidence for global warming is a heat wave in India. All the data show that our weather is more stable and that there are fewer storms and hurricanes than in the past. The hysteria over global warming is a left-wing grab for control over another sector of our economy.
