Steve Barnes: Wake loses in redistribution
Regarding the Aug. 11 news article: “Senate backs plan to shift sales taxes”: My Republican Party complained bitterly about Barack Obama’s “redistribution of wealth” comments.
The current North Carolina Senate has just passed a bill that would redistribute sales taxes from urban areas to rural areas. How is this state “redistribution bill” any different?
And since this state redistribution bill is estimated to cost Wake County $6 million, where will Wake County turn to recoup that lost revenue?
