Talbot Troy: Can’t gerrymander for governor
Regarding your Aug. 20 editorial “Road outrage: no driver’s ed”: You seem confident that Republican state senators will have to answer to constituents who are angry about the removal of driver’s education from public schools.
Have you forgotten that gerrymandering (yeah, I know the Democrats did it, too) has assured that these politicians have already selected their voters? I doubt they fear being held accountable, because that’s for chumps.
One person who can’t rely on gerrymandering is the governor. So, maybe the silver lining here is that voters will replace him with someone who won’t enable this legislature’s continued war against our educational system, the environment and general common sense.
