Gerald M. Ramoin: Why support TABOR?
Reading the July 27 editorial “A failed idea passes N.C. Senate” on the taxpayer bill of rights, I have this simple question: What is the benefit of TABOR? It is hard for me to think anyone, Republican or Democrat, would want to hurt the state’s credit rating or incorporate damaging laws for no other reason than it would certainly cast a negative light on any re-election attempt for those who supported such laws.
