William J. Rhodes: We all lose in oil game

Regarding Gwynne Dyer’s Aug. 21 column “In Saudi oil game, fracking is winning”: I encourage each of us to think about who is really winning.

He indicated that fracking is winning over the Saudi oil. If fracking is winning, then the planet and we are losing.

Both processes result in oil. When combusted, both result in long-term damage to the health of the planet.

The short-term winner is corporate profit. However, in the long term, we all lose.
