Phil Henry: SEANC’s bad choice

Regarding the Sept. 12 news article “Former Cope backer elected SEANC leader”: As a dues-paying member of SEANC, I am very disappointed in the turn taken by the organization at its recent convention.

The election of Ross Hailey to the presidency indicates no attempt to get the foxes out of the hen house. Seemingly, Art Anthony and The News & Observer are still blamed by many for exposing the fleecing of the membership’s bank account by Dana Cope.

The recent election was a chance for the organization to change direction. Instead, a majority of the members circled the wagons believing that those who were a part of the problem can self-correct and lead us to a better place. Sorry. That dog did not bark when a rabid fox plundered the hen house.
