Donna Johann: School bus service lacking

Regarding the Sept. 14 news article “Wake County runs fewer school buses”: More ridership? I read the encouraging news about our more efficient and effective bus service. Great news for those who actually have this service.

However, how is Wake County encouraging ridership when it takes away routes and forces parents to find their own transportation? If children are labeled transfer students in our county, they are on their own.

In our neighborhood alone, we have more “transfer” students needing a bus than those who made the cut waiting for their buses to various schools. Demographics have been ignored.

Glad we can do our part to save the county lots of money.
