Matt Duncan: Downtown folks need to adjust
I do not enjoy reading the views on how The News & Observer has portrayed the nightlife of downtown Raleigh. So let’s understand that times have changed, and Raleigh is not the city it used to be.
I was born and raised in Raleigh, and I am very fortunate for being raised in this great city. Now the downtown scene has created many service industry jobs, given people great choices for great dining experiences and also made the city an attractive place to move to.
It appears that the people complaining about the way things used to be were also upset about the Blockbuster being closed in Cameron Village because they were unable to adapt to change. This kind of thinking is disruptive to the overall future wellness of Raleigh.
I am an Uber driver, and I see all kinds of people working the graveyard shift. However, I do not let a drunk N.C. State student puking in my car stop me from driving for Uber.
