Doug Sedlak: An economic fairy tale
Worth repeating is a pearl of wisdom tucked at the end of the Sept. 12 Point of View “The Triangle’s broken economic ladder.”
Paraphrasing MDC President David Dodson, economic mobility has always been a myth, particularly for women and people of color. While Americans like to think success is not dependent on our situation at birth, that is but a fairy tale.
North Carolina is fortunate to have government-funded nonprofits like MDC that give leaders like Dodson a bully pulpit to speak the truth and dispel myth.
