Tara Craig: A superb response

On Aug. 27 our father went missing while kayaking on Jordan Lake. Our family would like to thank all of the emergency responders and volunteers who helped in the search for our father, Tommie C. Justice Jr. The professionalism, compassion and dedication they showed in their efforts to locate our father was incredible.

Upon learning of our father’s disappearance, three police officers from the Cary Police Department sat with our mother until my sister and I were able to arrive. The officers kept her calm and offered frequent updates on the search efforts. Once my sister arrived at the search site, she saw first-hand how extensive the search was and how dedicated the search teams were in their efforts. She was treated with kindness, concern and respect. Never did she feel alone or without support.

Thank you does not seem to be enough to express how much we truly appreciate the unwavering efforts of everyone involved. Dad will be missed more than words can say. He was a phenomenal husband, father and friend. Knowing that the community where he lived and grew up has such superb emergency responders and caring citizens is very comforting to our family.
