Virginia Salzman: Victim of bus ‘budget’
My granddaughter was denied bus transportation to and from her middle school this year for “budgetary” reasons. She received bus service last school year from the same school to the same subdivision, but this year there’s not enough money. This is unconscionable!
Her school, Rolesville Middle School, is on Burlington Mills Road and so is her subdivision. How is her mother supposed to leave work every day to pick her up at 3 p.m.?
She and her brother were first assigned to this school three years ago, because Heritage Middle was “capped” and had no room for them. After providing bus service for three years, the WCPPS is now denying a child the necessary means of getting to and from her school.
There is something seriously wrong with this school system.
