Susan Marshall: Quite the irony

Why do we even have a UNC Board of Trustees if the General Assembly doesn’t trust its hand-picked ideological cronies to make the right selection for president? (“Draft bill would alter search for top UNC job,” Sept. 27 news article)

I find it ironic, if not downright hypocritical, that the GA feels the process is too opaque and it wants more “transparency.”

A 10-day period where the public actually knows what’s going on and can comment? Hear, hear! How about a similar 10-day period for everything the NCGA does – such as the state budget?
