Amelia Casey: Abortion and guns

Some members of the U.S. Senate have threatened to shut down the federal government unless Planned Parenthood is defunded, apparently because a small percentage of its service is to provide safe and legal fetal abortion.

As a somewhat relative “right to life” issue, every day there are many news reports of people being shot to death. The ages of these victims range from toddlers to the elderly. They are killed singly or in groups. Their surviving families and friends are grieving, devastated and heartbroken.

Where is the outrage over the murder of these human beings? Where is the threat to shut down the government unless meaningful, common-sense gun control regulations are enacted?
