Tiffany Bair: Stam’s absurd arguments
I read Rep. Paul Stam’s Oct. 7 letter “Refuting death penalty claims” with bemusement.
Among his other weak ideas to justify a barbaric practice, claiming that the death penalty is a deterrent is akin to seeing an adult with a cigarette dangling from his mouth saying, “Don’t smoke, but I can.”
Trying to deter murder by murdering is quite absurd.
