Robert A. Schiffman: Actually a relief

Regarding the Oct. 6 Point of View “Graham monument just another statue that won’t stand test of time”: The Republican-led legislature and Gov. Pat McCrory must feel real satisfaction in their approval of a statue of Billy Graham for the nation’s capital.

This suggeststhey believe a statue of a religious bigot best represents the people and state of North Carolina.

As a non-Christian and therefore ineligible to enter heaven according to the revered Graham, I feel relief that I will not have to share eternity with such unsavory individuals.

Robert A. Schiffman
