Carl Hinson: Where charity starts
Regarding the Oct. 9 letter “Blame greed”: The writer apparently is a very charitable person, especially so long as someone else is paying for it.
If “the good doctor” works pro bono to treat the needy, then it would be charitable on the part of the writer to stop by his office every week or so and slip “the good doctor” a “C note” or two to help with his expenses.
However, the writer will probably stick to the old adage: “Don’t tax me, tax the man (‘the good doctor’) behind the tree.”
