Catherine Nichols: Two-job teachers
My son’s wonderful fourth-grade teacher has offered all year to come out and attend any extracurricular activities her students participate in.
I emailed her about my son’s Saturday morning football games. Her reply was, “Does he have any games in November? In October I work my part-time job Saturdays from 7 to 1.”
That broke my heart, and it should shame our government for the lack of support for our teachers.
