Howard Wasserman: Pots and kettles
Regarding the Oct. 16 news article “Meeting causes uproar”: The leaders of the two houses of our state legislature wrote, in part, to the Board of Governors of the UNC system about, “Our concern is not about any candidate for the presidency but rather the process by which at least a few members of the board have utilized what appears to cut against the fundamental notions of transparency and procedural due process.”
The lawmakers also wrote that the search “should not be rushed or made without the thoughtful consideration of all members of the board.”
Given their M.O. during the recently ended legislative session, particularly as the session came to a close, this is a textbook case, pun intended, of “Do as I say, not as I do.”
