Lou Giglio: No regard for poor

Regarding the Oct. 18 Point of View “Regarding N.C. lawmakers, what we didn’t read”: Michael Jacobs asserted “abysmal failure of our current president to improve the plight of the poor” as an excuse for the North Carolina General Assembly’s callous regard for the poor. He claims to be a professor of finance!

How is it possible that he is not aware of the Affordable Care Act signed into law by President Obama, which included extending Medicaid coverage to the poor?

Tragically, the very legislators he is hyping have refused to provide this benefit to some of our most vulnerable citizens in North Carolina. Is Jacobs auditioning to be the spokesman for the NCGA?
