Joe Dew: McCrory no leader

In 2012, I voted for Pat McCrory and helped elect him governor. I won’t make that mistake again next year. It has nothing to do with his plain, vanilla style, his political party or some of the wacky things he has done in office.

I have grown tired of his complaining and whining about things your newspaper and others write about him (“Gov. McCrory complains about N&O prison story,” Nov. 2 news article).

I long for a governor who is a leader. I value that quality and ability above smarts, above political acumen, above party label.

We’re the 10th-largest state in the country, and, more than anything else, we need a governor who wants to lead and knows how to do it. McCrory misses on both counts.

Joe Dew
