John Lowe: The Muslim message
Why don’t people realize the only way to truly defeat an ideology-based movement is through ideology? The only way radical Islam will be defeated is by mainstream Islam rising up and sending a louder and stronger message that the radicalized faith is not the true faith.
Consider this. Do we think those Christians who were beheaded denounced their faith before they were executed? My guess is their belief became strengthened in the face of death. It’s the same with believers like ISIS. The more you kill them, the more they believe.
Military intervention may contain their geographical growth, but only through the denouncement and intervention by true Islam believers will groups like these be defeated.
Without the Islamic world intervening on behalf of the Islamic religion, we will be fighting this fight when our grandchildren are having grandchildren.
