Daniel A. Devay: UNC turning vocational

UNC’s Board of Governors mystifies me. At the same time it tries to make recruiting top university management talent with big-dollar raises, the board is also trying to turn the system into a series of vocational schools.

While there is nothing inherently wrong with vocational schools, why attempt to recruit talent only to ignore it?
