Michael Biondi: Proud of what?

Regarding the Dec. 11 Under the Dome item “NCAE backs Cooper”: I find Gov. Pat McCrory’s campaign manager Billy Constangy’s comments about how proud Republicans are of their education record to be other-worldly.

With no teacher raises for many years, cutting programs such as teacher assistants, preschool classes, teaching fellowship, as well as public money to corporate charter and private schools, teacher exodus, not to mention low teacher morale statewide and our $750 pittance, I for one as a “hardworking teacher” and taxpayer will not be supporting the Republican scorched-earth approach to public education.

Constangy is entitled to his opinion, but the facts speak for themselves.
