Ben Cooper: Envy-producing laws

Regarding the Dec. 31 news article “New abortion, ‘ag-gag’ laws take effect Friday in North Carolina”: Every resident of N.C. should take time to write the legislators of our great state to thank them for their tireless work in enacting a few new laws.

They gave us another law to slow down the abortion process. North Carolina’s esteemed legislators are well aware that women are incapable of making a decision in regards to their own bodies. That law was long overdue.

On voter ID, how can anyone not favor the end to voter fraud? The plus side is we may stop a few black Democrats from voting.

The best new law is protecting companies and farmers from possible embarrassment because a demented person decides to cruelly abuse a helpless animal. I believe it’s our God-given right to abuse animals, as we see fit. So do our legislators.

These laws will make North Carolina the envy of every red state in America. My name is Ben Cooper, and I stand by this hacked-out garbage.
