John Heinemeier: Palestinian faces

I write to comment on the Rev. Mark Davidson’s Point of View of Nov. 30, “When confronting terror, we need a script that includes empathy, kindness.” As with so many of the hot-button issues of our day – racism, homophobia, Islamophobia – it is so very vital, as Davidson writes, to “put a human face” on those seen by many as culprits. Many people I’ve talked with who were once against gays or lesbians altered their positions once they met a gay or lesbian person.

If only we could now put a human face on the Palestinian refugees, now in their 67th year of that discrimination.
