Bridgette Holley: Sins of the past

Concerning the Jan. 4 news article “Confederate graves, Aycock marker damaged”: The vandalism of Confederate graves is proof of a truth lost in our society.

There is a day when the dead will be raised and all people will be judged before a just and holy God. Men will be tried by the state of their hearts, not by the color of their skin.

Until then, we must not take vengeance for the sins or perceived sins of the past. Instead of railing under the cover of darkness, destroying that which is not our own under the pretense of justice, we should all consider, in light of the coming day of judgment, what manner of persons should we be?
