Bob Miller: Ironical GOP

It is difficult to listen to the prepackaged Republican retorts to the president’s very limited response to gun violence without being struck by the irony. “Obama has exceeded his constitutional authority” (meaning “that’s their job” – except they aren’t doing their job, which is why he issues executive orders).

Oh, I see, it’s a constitutional legal issue. They are objecting because the president is using executive orders instead of going through Congress.

Irony there, too, because the Republican-packaged candidate response is, “When I am president, I will fix that on Day One!” How? By issuing executive orders, of course.
