Katherine Stein: An easy bathroom solution

Regarding the Jan. 18 news article “Transgender students want bathroom choice”: I have a very easy solution to the bathroom of choice issue facing Wake County schools.

We don’t need legislation to block such requests, no new laws. The governor does not need to be involved. The schools just need to create one or two unisex bathrooms per school (one toilet only).

This way transgender students will be able to use the toilet without fear of suspension, and nobody has to rewrite the rules to accommodate anyone.
