Cecelia Davis: PC Oscar voting

Regarding the upcoming Academy Awards (“Calls for boycott of Oscars grow,” Jan. 19 People item): I assumed that the members of the academy submitted votes for the various categories based on their opinion as to the best actor and director, etc. I was not aware (and apparently they weren’t, either) that they were supposed to consider race, sex, religion or anything else. Perhaps they need to be instructed on submitting politically correct votes.
