Carla Stolzenthaler: Sharing good news

I hear much complaint about news being grim, distasteful or sensational so I was happy to share with friends some recent positive and uplifting news in The News & Observer: the 10-ounce baby who survives and is developing (“ ‘Miracle’ baby helps family keep faith,” Dec. 30 news article); the student recovering from a stroke who climbs rock walls (“Student climbs to overcome stroke,” Jan. 4 Thumb’s Up article) and the quilters who made and sent 143 quilts to refugee camps around the world (“Refugees reap what Lutheran quilters sew,” Nov. 9 news article).

Because of the last article, the quilting group at Christus Victor Lutheran Church has received several financial and fabric donations so their work will continue and grow.

We thank you for sharing these inspirational stories.
