G.H. Wilson: Obama, not GOP, helped N.C.

Regarding the Feb. 2 letter “Careful approach beats playing politics”: House Speaker Tim Moore wants us to believe everything bad that happened to North Carolina was because of the Democrats.

While he pointed out all of the bad things that happened, he forgot to point out that the reason that the state was in dire need was caused by the Great Recession, something that Moore forgot to remind us about that was created and extended by President Bush’s and the Republican Party’s economic policies and war mongering.

Moore was right to say that unemployment was high, but that also was a result of those failed policies. What he forgot to say was that, due to the actions of President Obama’s strong and decisive decisions and policies, our economy has made a huge recovery. It’s nice to see Moore trying to take credit for what the president has done all over the country.

What Moore did tell us is he thinks teachers do need a raise. He is just not willing to help them!

G.H. Wilson
