David Mosier: Cartoon tells real story

I would like to congratulate Dwane Powell for his Jan. 31 editorial cartoon. It hit the political nail on the head by cleverly showing the governor’s change of heart represented by the wind vane in reaction to the landowner’s objections to CSX using eminent domain in Johnston County and then represents the intention of the CSX train to overpower his little car anyway.

In addition to the clear force of the image, the drawing itself is a true work of art. The details of the train, the rail crossing and the car are great, and there is even a barn in the background representing the farm land that is being affected.

The N&O, and the community, are truly fortunate to have Powell’s cartoons even on an infrequent basis.
