Tom Crudele: Learning experience for Cam

Regarding the Feb. 8 sports article “Panthers, Newton can’t stop Broncos”: So Panthers QB Cam Newton not only did not produce on the field Super Bowl, but he also displayed his true colors during the postgame interview by answering one question and then walking off.

It does not surprise me that he would act this way. The year went extremely well for Newton and the Panthers, and his ego was so high I am surprised they found a helmet to fit his head!

Newton needs to realize that an athlete is judged not only for what he does on the field but also just as importantly for what he does off the field, especially after losing a game. Hopefully this loss will help mature Newton, and he will act like the role model he should be to all the young athletes out there who look up to him.
