Bob Cisneros: Learning block

Robin Kirk’s revealing Feb. 7 Point of View “North Carolina’s memory hole” was disappointing news regarding policies of the N.C. State Archives and state law.

For current law to prohibit access to “all historical death penalty records” for quite legitimate research efforts is worrisome. There is a saying that “if we don’t learn from history we are doomed to repeat it.”

Apparently in North Carolina the hiding of history will doom us to continue repeating mistakes we should be learning from.
