Raghu Ballal: Lawmakers could use integrity officer

I was flabbergasted to read the Feb. 9 Point of View “Too many chiefs, not enough integrity.”

My understanding is that any university is there to promote logical, moral and ethical thinking. UNC with its well-renowned scholars in its philosophy department is fully capable of policing itself regarding integrity, without interference by our “know-it-all” state government.

If anyone needs an “integrity officer,” it is our legislature, which believes in running a government like a corporation (soul-less equals integrity, and ethics do not apply), where benefit for the few is better than benefit for the many!
