Lloyd Moore: Add photo to voter registration card
Much of the debate regarding the voter ID issue could be avoided if the 100 Boards of Election in North Carolina would merely add a photo of the registered voter to his/her registration card. The technology for this has existed for a long time and is used by many organizations to instantly print a photo ID card.
If our legislators were serious about their motives for requiring a photo ID in order to vote, the funds for this improvement to the voter registration process would be found quickly. Even if the system cost $5,000, which it doesn’t, two could be installed in each county Board of Elections office for a mere $1 million.
